FAQ

Question:
Why doesn't Penfriend learn the first word from text files or the clipboard?

Affecting products:
Penfriend XP and NA before 2.1.0.6.

In both Penfriend XL and Penfriend XP version 3 the ability to learn the first word after a mouse click is optional

Problem:
When I make Penfriend learn from a text file or clipboard, it never learns the first word. When I click in a document and then start typing, Penfriend doesn't learn the first word I type.

Solution:

For typing at the keyboard, a precaution is taken to avoid learning half words after the mouse has been clicked or cursor keys pressed. Penfriend waits for a space or other word-ending character.

Before version 2.1.0.6, Penfriend did the same with words learnt using the special lexicon features. This has now been changed, and an upgrade is available free from this web site to recognised customers.
