Case Study: Peter

One of many of our students using Penfriend is Peter, a year 7 student with Cerebral Palsy affecting all four limbs. His limited motor skills are insufficient for him to type or use a mouse.

He uses the Penfriend on screen keyboard with prediction. With this access method he can demonstrate his writing abilities, which are likely to be sufficient to consider him for entry onto a GCSE course in KS4. He needs enlarged print to read comfortably, so uses Penfriend to read on-screen worksheets and Internet pages, and can finally access his e-mails in private.
